Sending Your Puppy to Dog Day Care

It’s not always possible to be with your puppy 24/7. Therefore, you need to find an alternative and reliable means of care. Dog day care can be your solution, but you should start by doing a little research.

Finding a Dog Day Care Center

Choosing the right day day care can be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be hard. Ask other dog-owner friends and family members for their recommendations. Also, conduct online research for local facilities and make sure to find and read customers’ reviews. Once you locate a facility, make an in-person visit to check its cleanliness, outdoor areas, and staff friendliness. Ask questions about how they run their dog day care. In addition, find out if you can leave your dog for a bit for a trial run to see how your dog reacts. Upon returning home, take special note on how your dog seems. Your dog should be tired, but not totally exhausted or showing any signs of anxiety.

Leaving your dog with new people can be stressful, but it does not have to be that way. A little homework will take you a long way with getting your dog the best care he deserves. Once you establish a regular routine, your dog will develop social habits with the staff and hopefully make new friends.

Contact Woofs & Wags

Woofs & Wags offers doggie day camp for all those active canines out there that need a social outlet during the day. We try to keep them entertained with social interaction and supervised play time. They get a break from 12-2 so we can catch our breath and tend to other guests, then it’s back to play until pick-up time. We also offer administration of medications, special diets, and a la carte menu selections like “in the raw” diet, “frosty paw” sundaes, and more.  Our special care options are available for your pet during dog day care or other accommodations so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. Camp is available Monday to Saturday. Contact us today to learn more or set up a time to visit.
